Welcome to my blog! Since I was little and our family would holiday in Keswick I have been walking in The Lakes, so I have done quite a few of the Wainwrights already. However now that I live in The Lakes I am starting again with the aim of walking all the Wainwrights with my wife Louise, who until now hadn't done any. I am using this blog as a diary of my Wainwright walks to look back on, with routes and pictures, and maybe someone will find the info helpful.

Old Man of Coniston
Since the days are still a little short, last weekend's walk was the relatively short venture of The Old Man of Coniston, Dow Crag and Brim Fell. Walk diary with route and pictures now up in the menu to the left.

'Big 6 in 2016'
So it's always good to have a goal. Like climbing 214 Wainwrights. But we also have a sub-goal for 2016 to give us some direction, and that's to prioritise the 6 highest Lake District fells, and make sure we climb them this year. So, among others we're going to be doing Scafell Pike, Scafell, Helvellyn, Skiddaw, Great End and Bowfell. Not all at once. But it should make for some interesting walking and hopefully some good pictures.
Black Crag & Holme Fell
So the December weather has been a bit rough in The Lakes to say the least, and with Christmas and everything else we didn't manage to get out walking until the middle of January. What was meant to be a gentle stroll on some lower Wainwrights turned out to be a bit of a winter wonderland. With these two peaks we have now done 10% of all the Wainwrights. Route and pics now up.
