Sallows and Sour Howes
Distance 9.95km
Ascent 339m
These two peaks were a nice short afternoon out with a little bit of climbing. Generally an easy route.
We
started from the junction of the Dubbs Road, which is a bridleway
leading to Garburn Pass. An easy walk in to the start of the Garburn
Pass was then followed by a short ascent to Garburn Nook, the highest
point of the pass, where we turned right up a fairly steep but short
climb to the top of Sallows.
On the descent from Sour Howes
We then followed
the prominent wall to the summit of Sour Howes then directly down to
meet the Dubbs Road again. A very enjoyable short walk.
